HRH EMORIMOR ADVOCATES FOR HEALTH, EDUCATION AND CULTURAL REVIVAL DURING HIS VISIT TO BUKEDEA DISTRICT.

Bukedea District was graced with a cultural tour from the Paramount Chief of the Iteso Cultural Union ( ICU), His Royal Highness Emorimor Paul Sande Emplot.

The two days tour that commenced on 7th May 2025 till 8 May 2025 which started with a spot check visit to Bukedea HC IV on Wednesday afternoon where the Emorimor was accompanied by other Iteso Cultural Union ( ICU ) members where they accessed the state of service delivery at the health facility

During this visit he called upon the government to upgrade Bukedea IV to a district hospital and citing the need for better infrastructure and improved access to quality health services in the region

In his address His Royal Highness sighted the Challenges faced by both the patients and the health workers due to the facility's current status.

" The government of Uganda through Ministry of Health should upgrade this facility to a district hospital so as the people in the region can access comprehensive healthcare services closer to home " Emorimor noted

He also emphasised on the need to improve on the infrastructure since it doesn't match the demand due to the over whelming numbers of patients.

Dr. Oselle Julius , the in charge of the facility asked the Emorimor to use his influence and cultural authority to advocate for facility elevation.

Emorimor then visited Bukedea Comprehensive School where he expressed his admiration for the transformation taking place in the education sector .

He also commended the Speaker of Parliament RT Hon. Anita Annet Among for the significant investment in Teso Subregion.

"I commend the school management for the hard work and commitment to excellence as such developments bring a ray of hope to the development of the region " the Emorimor said

He noted that the school has reduced the educational exodus of students from Teso to access better education elsewhere

The Emorimor concluded his tour by visiting Nalugai Health centre III in where he pledged to lobby for the up grade of the facility as it serves over 8000 People from 10 parishes .He then went to Komuge Rocks.

The purpose of the tour was to carry out grass root mobilisation, Promotion of Teso cultural heritage , Public sensitisation on clan administration and support for Education and Economic Development initiative in the District.
