During the training , farmers were shown how to measure row distances and plant in straight lines using ropes and pegs . Farmers also received guidance on seed selection , fertilizer application , pest and disease control and post harvest handling.

The district plans to continue these farmer field school with agricultural extension workers assigned to monitor progress and offer continuous support throughout the planting season.
