ALIGOI SEED SECONDARY SCHOOL WORTH 2.2BILLION COMMISSIONED IN BUKEDEA DISTRICT, BOOSTING ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION

In an effort to boost on the education sector in Bukedea district, Aligoi Seed Secondary School was officially handed over and commissioned on 4th June , 2025. The newly completed institution was constructed under the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer program  (UGIFT) as part of government's initiative to expand access of quality secondary education especially to the rural communities 

 
The three year project constructed in a phrased manner from 2021-2025 by the Alfa Agricultural Produce and supplies limited worth about  2.2billion . The newly commissioned school comprises a fully functional ICT laboratory worth 164million with 20 computers and a fully functional science laboratory with reagents worth 56m , fully functional class room blocks , a Library , a military purpose hall and sanitation facilities all designed to meet the national standards for secondary school This has marked a milestone for the people of Aligoi subcounty and Bukedea at large
 
While officiating the event , Bukedea Resident District Commissioner, Mr. William Tukei applauded the governments commitment to improving rural education . "Such developments help to bridge the education gap between urban and rural areas" he said 
 
He also continued to commend the efforts of the Area Members of parliament, Hon Isiagi Patrick Opolot and RT. Hon Anita Among for lobbying the school in to existence . 
 
The RDC urged the local community to take full ownership of the school and asked the management of the school to ensure it's maintenance , support student enrollment and attendance. He called upon the parents to prioritise the education of both boys and girls in the community.
 
Speaking on behalf of the LC5 chairperson, Hon Tino Hellen Grace , a secretary for Social services in the District council thanked the community for embracing the school into place and also commended the leadership of Bukedea district for empowering and championing in the development of the common man 
 
" With the school in place , with currently an enrollment of 575 students, it now our turn to make sure the enrollment keeps increasing by doing good work and ensuring that the students are monitored to reduce the school drop out rates" she told the parents and teachers available. 
 
With the school being officially handed over and commissioned, it brings a ray of hope and opportunities to people in Aligoi subcounty as a tool of empowerment and a promise to a brighter future.
