GOVERNMENT INJECTS 688MILLION TO CONSTRUCT A MODERN MEDICAL STORE IN BUKEDEA HEALTH CENTRE IV.

The government of Uganda through the Ministry of Health has embarked on the construction of a modern medical store in Bukedea Health IV. The 6 month project that commenced in March and expected to be completed by September costs about 688million and is fully funded by Global Fund .

This development is expected to enhance the availability and management of essential medicines for the local population. This initiative seeks to address longstanding challenges related to inadequate storage facilities and frequent stock outs of vital drugs. The new medical store will provide a secure and well equipped space to store a wide range of medicines and medical supplies.

According to the Project Manager, Eng. Allan Ssebunya, the construction is to be ensure that patients visiting Health centre IV have timely access to essential medications . This new facility will help maintain the safety of medicines by providing proper storage conditions " he said

The Resident District Commissioner, Mr. William Tukei emphasized on the need to do quality works that are long lasting . He also used this opportunity to appeal to the government to consider construction of a medical store in Kachumbala Health centre IV as well so as to serve the communities there .

"The Bukedea Health Centre IV serves thousands of people annually and the new medical store is seen as a critical step towards improving the overall efficiency and reliability of health services in the area" said Dr. Emmanuel Odeke the Bukedea district Health Officer.

The facility will be designed to meet modern standards to preserve sensitive drugs and enhanced security features to prevent theft and misuse.
